W książce zaprezentowano historię, strukturę organizacyjną, założenia programowe, sfery działania, przygotowanie religijne i moralne członków Włoskiej Akcji Katolickiej, biografię wybitnego włoskiego działacza społecznego Alberta Marvellego (1918`1946), nazwanego przez biografów `robotnikiem miłosierdzia`, oraz wybór jego pism (`Dziennik`, `Listy`, `Przemówienia do młodzieży`, `Rozważania duchowe`, `Fragmenty polityczne`). Na przykładzie życia Marvellego przedstawiono wpływ formacji religijnej na zaangażowanie w służbę społeczną i jej odniesienia ideowe.Alberto MarvelliThe book presents the history, organizational structure, major objectives, spheres of action, religious and moral preparation of the members of the Italian Catholic Action. It also explores the life of an eminent social activist Alberto Marvelli (1918`1946), called by his biographers `a labourer of mercy`, and discusses his selected works (`Diary`, `Letters`, `Speeches to the Youth`, `Spiritual Reflections`, `Political Fragments`). On the example of Marvelli`s life, the author shows the influence of religious formation on the commitment to social service and its ideological references.
